Strome and DeAngelo both put up more points than PLD last season.

Tough to judge given CBJ only plays defense. PLD seems to have more offensive upside hidden in him that a defense-first coaching system won't let shine

I think if you poll 100 people, everyone will say they'd rather have PLD over Strome

That was Strome's best year, playing with an MVP level winger elevating him while he is a pending UFA.

DeAngelo's value is being killed by his reputation reappearing...

Same can be said about PLDs career.

And deangelo and Torts aren’t going to mix. I think we can forget that happening, lol

I don’t disagree or doubt that.

Just stating some facts to show what an overpayment it is.

For the Rangers, the upgrade from Strome to PLD isn’t worth DeAngelo, Kravtsov, Barron, Reunenan and picks.

Unless Tony DeAngelo can consistently play on the top defensive pairing, I really don't see us re-signing him in two years. He's gonna be too expensive to be a third pairing defenseman, and honestly even if he does get promoted, it'll still be tough to keep him. So I think it could be worth it. I don't know that we'll get a better chance to upgrade our 2C than this right now, especially with such a youngster like PLD

That being said this guy is giving way too many extra prospects. I have trades earlier in the day that this guy copied but just added a whole bunch of extra stuff. I can agree that this is too many prospects on top of a pretty even exchange of PLD + Savard for Strome + Tony D.

I don't really consider Kravstov a loss as right now, he barely even cracks our lineup. I'll believe in him when he plays a few games for us

PLD is a few years young that Strome on an upward development path.

Stromes development path has been fairly Shakey

Plus one has like 5 years of control left vs 1 year for the kther
