Isles decline, we’re not giving up enough for Zajac here

If anything isles would trade for a scoring winger before the deadline. Cant see pageau or cizikas moving to wing to accommodate zajac

That's fair, but Zajac is Lou's kinda guy, just feels like someone he couldn't help and find room for ... like he did for Martin, Greene et al

Isles are not giving up enough so they decline? You mean they are giving up too much, right?

If that's the case, Im not sure I agree the value is far off... I think a super late second (Avs will go deep), losing Komarov's contract and giving up a D prospect which the Isles probably don't have much use for (with so many ahead of him on depth chart) seems fair to me, but ok, maybe I underestimate how the Islanders feel about Bolduc. How about Bode Wilde instead smile (no reason to answer that)

Greene was acquired because pelech tore his Achilles - center is a strength for the isles , so unless one of the centers gets injured long term, zajac isn’t a good fit. Palmieri is probably a player he would be interested in , depending on the price

We could probably get more value for Zajac. What about Wahlstrom or Wilde + a cap dump for Zajac 50%

Wahlstrom / Wilde + Cap Dump is worth more than what is here (Bolduc & Avs 2nd rounder) ... I think the issue is mainly the fellas here dont want another center ... I dont think you could get Wahlstrom for Palmieri, but maybe Wilde.

True & they tend to be elder statesmen. To Lou, the only good young player is a traded young player (with a few rare - ultra elite - exceptions)

Isles don't need another center and the reasoning of him being "Lou's guy' isn't enough to change that. He tried trading for him last deadline and couldn't make it work, so he got JGP instead. We found our 3rd line center and are now set on centers.

That's probably fair. What's the difference in value between Wahlstrom and Wilde?

Wahlstrom is projected to be a top 6 winger with elite shot and Wilde is projected to be a Top 4 Right Hand Dman in two-three years.
