Yeah, honestly if last year didn't happen and this roster was 2-2, I could see this happening. But the taste in the mouth of everyone sours this

Not likely he sticks that long. How much can you alienate stars and get away with it?

Fair enough, just sussing out a fairish deal. Sharks arent rumored to be interested anyways (although Doug called for sure)

Not very happy about the idea of saying bye to Merkley but the trade is okay. Think we should wait longer to see what this roster is really capable of though. Not worth giving up assets like this if games like the last one are just an anomaly this season.

Gotta say the top 6 is absolutely 👌 though. Been awhile since I’ve felt like that.

I doubt they draft that high. Probably like 14th overall. My hope is Wallstadt slips

We're going d man or center, took so many wingers last year. If we go center, I would want Kent Johnson or Pinelli if he falls there. Chayka is my favorite of the dmen outside the top suspects

I know the sharks wont do it but Wall is a goalie. A cornerstone goalie could really make this team. Chayka really didnt impress me at the WJC, he kinda sucked.

Wallstedt could go in round 2 TBH or late round 1. If in some world, some how in this universe, Kent Johnson drops to the teens hes the steal of the Draft. Id like Jesper as well but IDK if I want our only pick to go on him. If we have two id prefer it to be on 2nd in most cases still. Chayka is still a solid grab in the teens I think; WJ showings arent always the best report cards (ask Jesse P, and many many many others).

This could be a year for the sharks to trade down. Turn like 14 into 25 and 32

I agree Chayka wasn’t great but to be fair WJC performances aren’t the perfect way to evaluate a player. Small sample size there.

Agree with RawZucc I probably wait another week or two and see what we have in Gamby/Gregor/maybe Sasha if he's called soon before we make the move.

I will say that having 0 forwards and 2 total skaters as right-handed shots scares me no matter how much some insist it doesn't matter haha

Aatu Raty. He started the year in top 5 discussions and has seemingly plummeted on everyone's draft board. He definitely has the talent to be a top pick (like Merkley) and if we have a mid-1st round pick and can grab him I'd be ecstatic

There's no equivalent of Dahlin and Svech this draft tho, less talent

True, but this draft does seem to be deep at the 2 positions we need to prioritize the most (LD and C)
