Description
The lines are when Coots and Myers are able to return.

Some will say it isn't enough for Dubois and Savard, but Savard only has the rest of the year remaining and Dubois trade value dwindles with every minute Torts keeps him on the bench.

Others may say I gave too much because Linblom is a favorite of Flyers fans and Frost looks like he could be a really good playmaker on offense.

I feel like this seems rather fair. Dubois can play LW or if you want to get weird play Patrick at RW. JVR might be fooling us early, but he looks pretty good this season thus far. Hopefully he plays his way into an expansion pick. If not I hope he at least plays his way until a point where we don't need to trade a 1st to dump him. JVR has to be the one to go this offseason. If you must leave him and Voracek unprotected. I know that sounds crazy. Voracek is a good presence in the locker room and he still is making plays (although he can be incredibly frustrating at times). Unprotecting both may ensure we get to dump one of those contracts to free up space not only for Carter Hart and Sanheim, but for Dubois, G, and Coots in 2 years.

Fletcher can get creative, but this might be a good fix for not only this year but moving forward. Although fans are attached to Linblom, Dubois gives us even more Center depth if we need it, and he can move to Left Wing and give us an enhanced version of what Linblom can. Linblom will be loved by Torts also I could only assume.

Savard isn't a top pairing D, but he could balance out the loss of Myers momentarily, and when Myers returns he'd continue to give Philly a good defensive presence. Flyers can't continue to let people get in on Cart Hart anymore. Savard won't let that go down.

AV can play around with that 3rd pair subbing in out depending on matchups.

I do believe the Flyers are giving up a lot, but you have to give a lot to get good players. This year's draft isn't the best so the 1st rounder isnt' a huge deal imo.

I look at it as if Linblom, Frost, 1st for Dubois. Ghost, Nak and a 3rd for Savard w/ some value of the 1st rounder carrying over to the Savard part of the trade. I hope that makes sense, but like I said you are right it is a huge risk to pay this, but I think Dubois could prosper with better talent around him. I'm definitely open to keeping Frost and substituting another prospect in his place. I'm not married to this package, just like the idea because it takes bold decisions to get over that hump. Ideally, I would trade this package for a top tier Defenseman, but then the Flyers would have to expose Myers in expansion. Any defenseman trade won't come until next year.

Gotta think Lindblom will live out most of that contract here. Fanbase will lose it if he is traded after that season.... means a lot to the team and it would be a kick to the pants to turn around at trade him. Frost isnt as valuable as this time last year, but he's hard to move.... idm moving him here.

Leave out the Savard swap here. Drop Ghost / Lindblom. Frost and a first is fair imo.... Dubois value won't be through the roof after this week.

I mean I would love that! I just don't think that would work to get Dubois plus getting Savard is a big part of the deal for the immediate future. We need some help defensively. He isn't a cure, but he'd at least help. Too many players getting right in front of Hart, its inexcusable.

I also get your point on Linblom, it hurt to do it, but I mean lets be real its a business. Gotta do what you gotta do to improve the team. Dubois would offset some of what is lost with Coots out as well. I was just worried I'd under-pay. If it is an overpay I certainly don't mind if its adjusted.

I can see that point of view. I felt gross when I did it. I'm definitely willing to send less, but tbh if I sent any less I'd get mauled for not giving enough. I Just think Dubois, short term would mitigate the Coots loss, and allow him to take more time to get healthy. CBJ wouldn't mind waiting on Frost. Also, bringing in Savard will help solidify some things in front of Hart. He wouldn't be a cure to all the defensive woes, but he would provide some stability.

But don't get me wrong if the Flyers could trade less to get Dubois, I'm all for it. I just went bold, because you're damned if you do, damned if you don't on this site sometimes.

I feel like the flyers are deep enough down the middle where they don’t need to trade for dubios and he probably wouldn’t want to play wing. Lindblom + NAK provide just as much value as PLD. IMO the flyers just need a defensive minded top 4 D and that’s it.

I definitely agree with you. The problem is with expansion thats a move that will have to wait until after the season. Which I don't hate on patience, but I don't think this would take us out of possibly making a deal after the season either. We would still have a rather deep roster even with this trade. But like I said if the Flyers can get him for cheaper than this its a no brainer. My proposal is probably too rich like we've said above. Love the input. I also just want more big bodies like Dubois in there. I can't take getting pushed around by the Islanders again this post-season. Lindblom plays an all around game and is no push over, but isn't exactly stout. haha

I guess I’m higher on lindblom , I see him as a poor mans Mark stone lol. Great underlying numbers and I really think he’ll break out this year. NAK is an elite two way 3rd liner, you need guys like him for the playoffs. That’s why TBL traded for goodrow and Coleman.

Philly should go for palmieri and one of hjalmarsson/Connor Murphy.

But the most I’d give up for PLD is frost and a 1st. Wouldn’t go any more than that.
