Considering how bad Larsson has been as of late, 1-on-1 trade between Kulak and Larsson isn't that far off really...

Haha no. I actually watch the Oilers. It's 5 games in.. and he's had more then enough shining moments... Oilers need him more right now then ever until the team can get a flow going, there is no one who can replace his minutes, he has value for the Oilers just based off his pk work.. and he's blocking a ton of shots.. D make mistakes not time to trade him for "well hes been playing bad, so let's not trade him for his true overall value"

Statistically speaking it says a lot about how bad the Oilers are if a player with Larsson's statistics is "needed right now more than ever"

If you’re asking Oiler fans opinions on Larsson he is worth a 7th rounder at best. If you ask the rest of us who understand that defence is an effort of 5 guys on the ice we will tell you that Larsson is no better or worse than any other 3-4 d man out there. He is solid and any team looking for a 20 min a night shut down d man would be lucky to have him.

Not an Oilers fan but I'd think that would get you Larsson as long as they're not in a playoff spot. The Oilers need to shake up their defense so Larsson probably won't be back next year.

The Oilers have no interest in Kulak and sure as hell aren't trading Larsson for picks. They want to win now, those picks won't be any help for 4-5 years (if ever). AND you're asking them to retain 50%... there's no reason in the world for them to even think about this.

Caleb Jones was struggling the first few games this year, since he's been in the pressbox Larsson's defensive numbers have been fine.

37:03 TOI with Jones
33:22 TOI w/o Jones

25.91 SA/60 with Jones
23.36 SA/60 w/o Jones

6.48 GA/60 with Jones
0.00 GA/60 w/o Jones

2.24 xGA/60 with Jones
1.89 xGA/60 w/o Jones

48.00 OZ FO% with Jones
30.77 OZ FO% w/o Jones

So despite having more defensive responsibilities placed on him without Jones, his defensive numbers are better.

Considering Contract and Skill, I'm taking Kulak over Larsson

That's a pretty unreasonable take. Does that mean a Price for Koskinen trade makes sense since Price has a .887 and Koskinen a .906? Ill be honest I don't know much about Kulak but Larsson is very valuable to the Oilers right now. Without him the right side is essentially Tyson Barrie, a sophomore (Bear), and a rookie (Bouchard). None of which are exactly great defenders.

Thinking long-term Habs would probably be the winner of Koskinen-Price swap...the amount of money they'd save there is insane.

Handedness is the only issue I can think of. But I don't think Kulak could do worse than Larsson has done recently, so there's nothing much for EDM to lose there.
