A protected pick is like a warranty, there's no double warranty though. Even if that was allowed, its not good for CBJ, like imagine being promised a birthday gift but it every time your birthday comes you are told it will be delayed a year

Did something change in the new cba? because i'm pretty sure it can. If not Hawks just protect it this year i suppose.

My bad...should NOT do. I agree that you can't just say...take my pick until it's not as good as you want it to be. It's a risk/reward. If you're going to take the risk that the pick will take longer to acquire then there should be some type of reward in doing so.
