For the wild? Not really. I mean, they get something for Johansson, but Donskoi's looked better. I think Avs would need to add a pick/prospect simply because of Donskoi's term.

Tough to say with COVID. Donskoi has two more years at $3.9 million, so I feel like it might have to be more. Sampo Ranta? He'd make sense with the University of Minnesota connection and his game aligns with how the Wild play.

Wild pass on that 3 years paying that much to a bottom 6 guy really isn't worth it. Not that Johansson is special but the Donskoi contract isn't ideal.

Agreed, can't see Guerin being interested in a middle 6 winger they don't really have room for.

Getting out of the last two years of Donskoi's contract would be worth carrying Johansson for a couple of months, as long as all our deadline capspace isn't used up on only him.

No. Wild only trade Johansson when out of it. But the cost for Colorado to get Johansson would be a 2nd or 1st than Colorado would have to add an additional 2nd or 1st just for wild to take on Joonas but Minnesota says no because they aren't taking on his contract, & don't have room

Fair enough. I didn't look into how it would work out cap-wise, I was simply talking value. Ranta would be a decent prospect to pick up.
