No way NYR does that. How can Vegas afford this?

Vegas has no cap space for Zucker
Vancouver can't take Malkin, they have decent center depth and they need their picks, additionally they will need all the money they can get to sign Petterson.
Rangers are all stocked up on wings so I don't see a fit their.

That's way too much for 1 year of a 34/35 year old Letang.

Thats 3 of the Oilers top 4 forward prospects. Easy no. I still do believe Letang has got some game left in his tank, but moving out your whole forward prospect, who are cost controlled, for a 33 year old dman makes absolutely zero sense. We have plan on having Bouchard and Bear as our top 4 RHD, and Larsson on the 3rd pair going forward long term, with Barrie still in the mix. Letang is for sure an upgrade on those guys at the moment, but likely not the case in 2 years from now.

That Edmonton trade never happens. Edmonton needs a stream of cheap skilled wingers and a 3C for the future.

They will have to pick 2/3 of Bear, Barrie and Larsson they can’t all stay. I would suggest bear might be on the outs.

Yea, Larsson has a reliable game, and playing him 3rd pairing would be ideal. I would expect him to take a pay cut from what he's making now.
Bouchard obviously is in the lineup next year. As for Bear vs Barrie, I would think Barrie would need to have a pretty exceptional year to make the Oilers want to commit to him long term. Bear has youth and cost on his side, so unless Barrie puts up 45+ points or takes a discount to stay here, I would think Bear is in the teams future.

Either way, moving our whole forward prospect pool for a 34 year old RHD makes zero sense
