Honestly I am all for giving O'Connor a shot. Looked good in training camp and he even was on the PP2 in practice. I would love him to get a chance. I think the Zucker-Malkin-Rust line has been the weakest thus far. I would love to see Guentzel back on that line, because they had some real chemistry before he got hurt last year. Zucker and Sid also looked great together in the playoffs. I would go:
Zucker-Crosby-Kapanen
Guentzel-Malkin-Rust
McCann-Jankowski-Tanev
O'Connor-Blueger-Sceviour
(ZAR will also be back soon, wonder what they do then)
Defensively, I dont know who to put where between Ruhwedel and Ceci. I want POJ to be with the steadier dman, so Ruhwedel, but then again, I dont want Ceci on top 4 minutes. Its tough haha.

I think the solution to the Ceci or Ruhwedel problem is to sit both of them and play Maniscalco.......but here comes the incoming horrible decision to play Ceci instead.

I don't know, they were hemmed in with Ceci on the ice with Rudwehel.
I thought POJ was ok, he has no shot though. Not even close to getting on net on any shot. Hard to be a defenseman if you can't shoot from the point. He did ok, but I clearly see why he's on emergency loan.
No shot, couple really bad passes that were basically turnovers. But as a 3rd pairing he managed to at least play decently.
Ceci on the other hand, should not be paired with Rudwehel. Neither is good enough to help the other.

This team still does a lot of things that hold it back. The dump in for a chance strategy needs to go. Hold the puck if you have to. Don't dump in to change. You just give the puck back and put your new line right on defense. Teams don't do this anymore. It's being phased out, yet the penguins are doing it constantly.

Line 2 must have gotten your message cause they looked really good tonight. Only a couple mistakes. And Ceci didn’t look too terrible and looked better than JJ 😂

Before tonight’s game I probably would have said the lines should be
Zucker-Crosby-Kapanen
Guentzel-Malkin-Tanev
McCann-Jankowski-Rust
ERod-Blueger-Sceviour
Dumo-Letang
POJ-Marino
Ceci-Ruhwedel

But after tonight’s game, I’d said the only switches that I’d make are Guentzel and Zucker, and Kapanen and ERod.
