Yes from VGK.

Basically a cap push this year. A little over 3 million difference next year.

Maybe a second instead of a fourth and fifth, but I'm not sure.

Not sure exactly, second sounds good. If there's gonna be 0 retention, really rough for buffalo to take a declining( better then Hutton yes, but declining nonetheless) MAF for two years without something better then two late picks coming back

I do think VGK would do their 2nd if needed but , There won’t be retention though if you send over 6 million back.

MAF is better then Hutton so that takes some value off. Plus with a basic even cap hit, in the trade l for this season it really comes down to Miller’s value plus the 3 million difference next season.

2 mid round picks is probably close.

But we also give them Miller, who has 3.875 million contract and the same term as Fleury.

Agreed on the retention, but 3 M next season is a lot. Like you said, Vegas prolly adds their second and fax it in. Miller is also a decent d man that was traded for a second and fifth two years ago.

Right, but Miller doesn't have negative value. A 7M fluery does. Hutton does as well. I think buffalo stomachs it better with a second.

Yeah it comes down to what both sides think of Miller’s value at this point. But he’s not worth a 2 and a 5 anymore probably.

But like we both said, Vegas probably say yes to their second

there were reports that Vegas couldn't find a taker to move fleury at 50% retained WITH a 1st round pick.

No thank you.

Probably they did not return the salary in the deal, but here Miller + Hutton, especially since it is based on rumors and that Adams is in talks about the goalkeeper, which is probably Fleury.

A late 2nd isn’t enough to take on Fleury’s bad contract

Fleury for Okposo, buffalo retains 1 million. (7+7 for 5,+5,+5, and buffalo paid 2 million bonus this year already). Vegas saves 2 million on the cap each of the next 2 years and can buyout Okposo for that last year without much damage.

take it or leave it.

Okposo has three years, it doesn't work for Vegas, even if we keep one million.

I do not agree. Fleury is still a good goalie and will help as the leader for Buffalo's locker room. Miller makes almost 4 million and his contract is also not very good, Hutton is probably worse than Fleury. I would make this deal.

Fleury has a HORRIBLE CONTRACT
And he’s 36 years old, and shown STEADY DECLINE
His save% for his 3years in Vegas:
.927
.913
.905 last year
He’s started off well this year, but it’s too small a sample size to know if he’ll be able to keep that up-
especially at 36years old

And if we trade for him & it doesn’t work out,
we’d totally stuck with that crappy contract

Fair enough, but I would take a chance, especially since his contract is only a year and a half.

Thing is, he’s undeniably risky
And if he’s bad, we are stuck with him. Yeah, that’s only a year & a half.... but if we miss the playoffs this year then Hall likely signs elsewhere, & I’m worried Eichel could ask out.

I just don’t wanna risk Hall & Eichel on him

So it can happen with or without Fleury, we can also skip the playoffs and Eichel and Hall leave. Hutton and Ullmark are not the most reliable pair of goalies due to injury or play. I just see in Fleury not just a goaltender, but also experience and leadership, something like an exchange of Staal as a person, and if he and I get into the playoffs, then his experience will definitely come in handy. The situation is not easy, but this is my opinion.

I hear that, and i too want a goalie upgrade....
i just think Fleury is very risky, & I’d prefer Kuemper from ARZ for example

I would also prefer Kuemper, but you understand that this will be the exact opposite cost. Perhaps we would have to give up 1st and prospect.

Yeah, of course.
But I’d much rather pay up for a guy who’s a top5-ish goalie,
than trade less assets for a risky one
If keeping Eichel & Hall weren’t on the line, then trying the cheaper way could be an option. But i wanna give us the best chance to keep them moving forward.
So personally, I’d be more than willing to pay up

I think I would be willing to include the first round for 2C in the deal, but not for the goaltender, of course, if it is not Gibson or Hellebuyck, which are simply not available. Also, Kuemper started the season badly and it seems that Raanta was injured, it is also a difficult situation. Maybe they would be agreed to such a package for Kuemper, at least I would not mind: Mittelstadt or Thompson + 2nd,

Likely would take more than that, which we should still do imo
