I would like this trade for the Avs. I don`t think it would be much to acquire him. Retention will cost you though. I don`t know if the contract will be an issue next year with Landeskog and Makar needing contracts.

His contract would be fine if there's some retention, but Avs might have to move a Donskoi/Compher to make room.

Fair enough I guess. He's won his cups, got all the money he could ever spend, and lives in a sunny place near the beach. I probably wouldn't want to get traded away from that either.

But to be fair if you got him as a 3C, I love the move. I thought the same for getzlaf as a 3C for avs

No he didn't. This is like the 100th time I've had to debunk this rumor. He flat out stared at the reporter and said "I'm not retiring. Those words never came out of my mouth."

Just a small opinion but I hate Nichushkin in the top 6, this year plays have just died on his stick and outside of last year in spurts that’s kind of been his mo.

That's a fair opinion. He is a bit of a black hole offensively, I won't argue against that.

However, for whatever reason that 2nd line just seems to click with Nichuskin/Kadri/Burakovsky. Analytically they were great last year together as a line.

It's probably a good thing for Burakovsky and Kadri to have a huge physical guy on the line who can handle forechecking and back-checking, it somehow frees up Kadri and Burakovsky to play their more offensive game.

50% retention on Carter at the deadline would cost a 2nd round pick. No retention would cost a firm handshake (or COVID equivalent).

Nichushkin is without a doubt an analytics monster. He is a big dude who can skate. But he is as soft as charmin when it comes to physical play because he can’t or won’t engage that portion of his game, that’s why plays just die on his stick.
