Personally I disagree with the value notion there. Imo Dubois > Nylander and Savard = Brodie, but yes the first rounder seems too much.

Your bias against the Leafs is showing. I wouldn't say Nylander is better than PDL but they are equal. However, Savard is in no way ax good as Brodie. One is a top pair defender the other is a 2nd pair #4. It's not close.

Your values are off. An easy way of looking at this, would Winnipeg trade Laine and Roslovic for Nylander. The answer would be not in a million years, not even close. So no Nylander's value is not the same as PLD.

It's not really bias. I wasn't a fan of Brodie when he played in Flames, and it's not really changing in Leafs. But Savard is and has been a relatively solid bottom-4 D.

Dubois is 22 and a C. These two things scale the value towards Dubois. Skill level is equal to me though.

Honestly I know I won't convince you otherwise. People either appreciate Nylander for how good he is, or they think he's half as good as he is or worse.
