Hutton is one of those guys who will get negative attention no matter how he performs. As a flyers fan I was quite shocked with how good he was vs Philly to start the year. Issue was always that he was behind a brutal Buffalo team and put minimal effort in on his own...trying to make him a starter was a failed experiment in BUF. Early trends show that with the improved time and behind a more developed Ullmark, he can turn it around.

Still, Huttons largest issues come when he is played too much. You think he will be played too much behind a top 3 goalie? Doubt it. And at that, it doesn't take much to improve on Broissoit. I think Hutton is a perfect cheap target that will do the job fine for the cost and effectively enough to relieve connor without breaking the bank.

hawks pass. Not really much incentive, we're giving the better player by far and are taking extra cap. A 3rd is maybe adequite to take perrault for a year alone, then dehaan is probably worth a 3rd on his own, and retention is worth a bit too

Fair point. I can agree there considering how he performed in STL before coming to BUF for a starter job.
