Initial Creation Date: Dec. 5, 2016
Published: Dec. 5, 2016
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
The Jets are so close to taking off, and while personally, I think they should change the coach if things don't improve, they also have had some issues (surprisingly in net). Hellebuyck should be a stud, but like every young goalie, there are ebbs and flows to his game right now. The Jets are sitting in a playoff spot right now but adding someone like Miller gives Hellebuyck and the team a veteran presence. Miller's numbers are better than Hutchinson and the Canucks need a backup for next year so the goalie swap, with a pick going to Van because of Miller's resume and pedigree. Also, Pavelec still can serve as a #3 option should injury occur. I think if the Jets can get a little bit more stability in goal, it'll help get them moving upwards. Although I doubt he would agree to this deal, it's just an idea.

I wonder if half the reason Hellebuyck has struggled is the defense in front of him. Trouba holding out...Myers on IR...enstrom had the family thing....Postma is just terrible. Maybe wait to the get fully healthy and see where they go. Could be a good deadline deal if they are in a playoff spot.

The only reason the Jets are in a playoff spot is the they have played more games than their Western Conference. Jets/Canucks and some others are in playoff run and their isn't much difference between 6th place and 12th place. Can't imagine the Canucks trading Miller, he's holding them in the playoff race.

I doubt it as there is talk of an extension, but the Canucks play in a terrible division - once the big boys start getting consistency the Canucks will be left behind. Just exploring potential landing spots.
