I mean now I view Laine as an asset to CBJ more than a long term player so yes I do think many teams could target him next summer if his relationship in CBJ is rocky. Laine has said he’s open to extending there and Jarmo wants that too, so it all just depends how this year goes. I think to get laine, if he had a solid season but asked for a trade. It probably costs you what you offered for PLD.

I wouldn't go there. We have an amazing core with Caufield and Norlinder coming up. It'll cost you a lot to not only get him, but than to re-sign him.

I don't think caufield is as good as Laine. But Laine will cost way more than Caufield. Even if Caufield becomes a 35-40 goal scorer, im fine with that, because Laine will ask for 10-11 mill.

Laine’s value is going to take a hit like PLD?

With Montreal upcoming cap situation they shouldn't be making an offer for a player that going to cost too much cap.

It would mean not resigning Danault and Tatar for capspace AND including one of Drouin/Gally/Anderson (5M+ winger) in the deal. KK would need to be added in the bundle too and that's pretty disastrous.

Just saying that calling Montreal’s core amazing is a stretch. They have to do something first.

    Habs fans are so cute.

They’ll do well this year because they’re playing in a trash division. They have at very best an average core.

They sure could. If the bruins are playing philly do advance, and the habs are playing, i mean, any team in the north, that isn’t exactly a good comparison. Habs might not even make the playoffs. Same goes for the bruins.

I do think there’s a good chance the bruins finish with fewer points than the habs, mostly because the north division is very weak. I wouldn’t be so quick to celebrate. The habs were flat out bad last year, and despite some good off season additions, i would hold off on putting a team with a winning percentage worse than buffalo had last year ahead of the team that won the presidents trophy.

I feel fine. My teams been good for a while. You should feel good about your team too. Might get the first playoff berth in a while. Maybe the habs will win a round! Wouldn’t that be unusual.
