Description

Every game trotz tries to put as many of "his guys" in the lineup and expects goaltending to bail out his bizarre lineup decisions. Ross Johnston, Matt Martin, and Cal Clutterbuck should not be in the lineup at the same time. Theres not one winger in the bottom 6 that can generate offense. It's not like he doesn't have better options - Wahlstrom, bellows , czarnik...This game is on trotz. There's a reason why hes only made it past the 2nd round twice in his coaching career.

If beauvillier is out for an extended period of time, bellows and wahlstrom should both be in the lineup.

this is his 2nd game in 10 months - no pre season. It's a part of the learning curve. I thought he played well for the most part but He should have had the 2nd goal. Both games hes played in this season the team has played terrible

shestyerkin let up 7 goals in his first game in the traverse city tournament which was his first game in North America.

trotz isn't getting fired , but he is extremely overrated. Hates playing rookies and never ices the best lineup.

I don't - I think lane Lambert will get a HC job next offseason. I believe he interviewed with Anaheim last year.

it doesn't get enough attention how trotz saddles the bottom 6 with hard working AHL level talent. Ross Johnston might be the worst player in the NHL right now.

Yeah it feels like you dodged a bullet when the islanders win and when they are losing its very difficult to watch

How quickly they forget. Lol. Trotz took over the worst defensive team in the league and turned them into one of the best overnight. A crap team to a playoff team overnight. Gets the most out of his players and a tough to play against. But sure, fire him, maybe bring back dead weight. Lol.

weight didn't know what he was doing. The team was playing a pond hockey style. Sure trotz played a role in helping the isles become better defensively, but he's not this god like coach that the hockey world makes him out to be. Mitch korn is an elite goalie coach and he can make any goalie look good. Goaltending has bailed out trotz awful lineup decisions. Trotz gets the most out of bottom 6 grinders and stifles top 6 talent and refuses to play the forward prospects.

Wasn't tested after the 1st much, but he was honestly fine. The Hughes goal was just a nice shot and while I thought he could've gotten to the Zacha one, I'll give him a pass because he had no goal support

I wouldn't go that far lol, but good lord he needs to evolve a little bit. Like yeah it's not 1981 unfortuntely, the bottom six needs to generate a little more offense than literally none at all. These young, offensively gifted guys who sit in the press box every night aren't going to get the "experience" he and Lou praise so much if they don't play on a regular basis.

Can't wait for Komarov or Kuhnackl to slide into 2LW for Beau if/while he's out

well I don't feel like hes going to evolve lol - he just can't get out of his own way. I thought bellows was excellent defensively the other night. Great awareness, hustled on the back check, and then Johnston who is a straight up liability gets to remain in the lineup. It makes no sense. He took a dumb tripping penalty on Wedgewood, lets see if trotz holds him accountable

Goalies benefit more from Mitch korn than trotz system.

Trotz refuses to play rookies even if they outplay the vets. That is the problem. It's understandable to not play them if they are making too many mistakes.

We had the same guy, Claude Julian. Frustrating but was always effective. Cassidy does not play rookies much either but he opened up the offense more anyway.
