Carter is doing better than Danault and KK combined kid. Kings decline anyway, we don't want or need rentals.

Nice to see you're still here @The_Architect, am sure we'll manage to have some interesting discussions again. Do I make the assumption that you're going with the rumours being true that PD wants more than what was offered, and therefore are willing to trade him for Carter? Seems dicey either way. However I will say the Jeff Carter retirement stuff has already been debunked.

Long term Danault>Carter
Right now Carter>Danault
Look up the stats if you don't believe me.

I misunderstood you though, I apologize. People wrote off Carter a long time ago and now he's tearing it up. It was an injury, but he's healthy and playing better than he has the last 3 years.

I'm sick and tired of debunking this Carter rumor. It was randomly started by TSN, not Carter. He has gone on the record saying thats not true. From the Athletic:

https://theathletic.com/912635/2019/04/08/jeff-carter-wont-retire-so-what-are-the-kings-options-with-him?source=user-shared-article

" Jeff Carter emphatically denied that he’s considering retirement, squashing a rumor from earlier in the season that if the Kings dealt him, he would call it quits.

“I’m 20 games from 1,000, so I don’t think I’m retiring,” he said at the team’s getaway day Monday. “I got three years left on my contract. I want to be an L.A. King. I want to help change things around here, but I don’t have no-trade protection so whatever happens, happens. And I never talked about retiring either. Never came out of my mouth.” "

Im tired of the BS revolving around PD. I'd do it. IMO Carter's experience is worth it and a good mentor for Zukes and KK. He's just rotting away in LA . Their future looks promising but he won't be around for that. I also think PD would extend with LA.

Ok sima danna. He's not tearing anything up, it's 6 games into the season. It's like saying Kyle Connor is gonna finish 1st in pts by the end of the season.

He has 5 points in 6 games, he is tearing it up right now. If you actually watch him, you'll see what I mean.

If you didn't know that, you wouldn't have made this silly ACGM.

No, it is not like saying Connor will finish 1st in points lol.

Exactly "right now". And Connor is 1st in scoring right now. I know what I see and if Danault agreed to an extension with LA pre trade and Blake refuses to give up Carter, he should get fired. I'm exaggerating but it'd be shameful.

I definitely don't see why Montreal would trade Danault for Carter even if he doesn't resign. Carter is still good, but he's better on the wing now.

It's my ego. I don't want PD walking for nothing. I also won't have anyone as good to replace him next yr. Carter could be a good mentor for the young centers and he brings cup experience. And having him for the extra yr buys time for the center prospects to develop properly. Or buys time to land a decent UFA in 2022 cause this yr's UFA class is shallow.

Who else would you be willing to trade? I can't see Kings taking Danault simply because they have young guys that need ice time. With some retention and Kings maybe taking Byron, you'd be able to keep Danault and get Carter as well. What would you be willing to give up if that interests you?

An offer for you based on something I bashed out with a couple of Habs fans. Was about 50/50 amongst fans as to yes or no.
