I couldn't last night. I turned it off after the shorty. Just brutal from end to end. Murray needs to make some saves but there seems to be no... organization(?) I guess, in the D zone. No outlet pass, no speed and no sense of what to do once the cycle starts. Anisimov needs to not play again and Stepan needs to win some draws. If we can't skate, at least we can have possession from time to time. Once we lose the draw it's a crap shoot.

It's a good thing we have two young capable D on the taxi squad that can sakte and have a good outlet pass in Brann and Jaros... oh wait. Zub and Aspirot will have to do? Like, what?

I wouldn't overreact. Young teams sometimes get an a** kicking, especially in a division that has plenty of good teams that have all been in the playoffs recently.

theyre not even young though thats the thing, batherson norris and tkachuk are our youngest line and have been our best players. The rest of the team is a bunch of old vets who have sucked and done nothing that dj smith keeps throwing out there. I have solace in the fact that its almost an entirely new group and they haven't played in almost a year with no pre-season but watching the vets do the same things all the time and the coach keeps throwing them out there is just beating a dead horse that wasn't really working in the first place. Like i have nothing against artem anisimov, but playing him at 2c was ridiculous with how poorly he had been playing

murray definitley needs to be better but goalies have cold stretches and the defense in front of him isn't playing well, but man hes gotta make a few saves here and there on some breaks. Granted he's made a few but its not at all the level it needs to be. I want to see Zub, he cant be much worse than what we had out there last night

It was well known before the season started that the Sens defence would not be good, and they have lived up to that, even Chabot has been terrible. The Reilly/Wolanin battle for 2nd pair LD is a lose-lose situation, and Coburn isn't moving up. They need to make a trade for an experienced 2nd pair LD, because they can't keep sending these guys out and thinking something will get better.

Tierney is the right choice for a trade, since he's a very good middle6 centre, that is dangerous on the PK, and would get a good, experienced 2nd pair LD. If they didn't want to part with Tierney, which is very possible because he's the glue in this lineup, then they could make a lesser trade for a guy like Calvin de Haan, who's just okay. Something like Reilly and a B prospect like Chlapik.
