Alright? I mean it’s a bit of a lateral move but considering we just sent down Middleton, this seems like an upgrade. Plus a right shooting shut down guy is a role were seriously lacking at the moment. Can’t complain from a Sharks perspective.

Not really sure what OTT is doing over there but it’s not a huge loss for them really.

They probably like Lajoie more and decided to trade him now since Brannstrom and Docker are coming up next year and the year after.

Edit: Nevermind, I'm an idiot. They traded Lajoie too awhile ago.

7th round pick swapped and both teams get nothing in return player wise. AHL players soon to be playing somewhere over seas.

Ah yes, the Sens trade involving a young defenseman everyone was expecting. At the end of the day this is the Sens getting a pick and an AHLer for a guy who deserves a shot but is their #10 D at best right now and doesn’t exactly project to move higher on the depth chart with JBD, Thomson, and Sanderson on the way. If he does well in SJS I’ll be happy for him but the pick is a nice return as we’re turning a likely non-player into a low-chance maybe player down the road.

Jaros has played 76 NHL games and can be a decent call up / taxi guy.

Kopacka isn't much more than a depth AHLer at this point.

Sharks win.

Jaros at least has a shot of being a regular NHL player, which is more than can be said for Kopacka. Don't really like it, but not a huge deal.

I hope there weren’t any Sharks fans rushing out to get a Kopacka jersey the other day

Depth player for depth player, Ottawa got a pick, even if it's a 7th, they win, by a hair

i picked Otts. Now here's why, Ott has a number of younger top ended defensive talent: Sanderson, Kleven, Bernard-Docker, Tychonick, besides Thomson, Brannstrom, etc. Jaros was not playing alot of time, no joke. And in return, you get a W/C who in the midst of "bikini-land" has the presence to be able to find the net. He's moving closer to home, Belleville and Otts should be pretty good for him. If Jaro's a benefit to San Jose then all the better.

2 weeks before this trade was made, Jaros was placed on waivers and nobody claimed him.

That means Jaros was worthless at the time this trade was made and yet, Ottawa still got a draft pick out of it.

Ottawa wins.
