Personally, Id be open to going after Ryan especially if he is playing well at the deadline but I hope to get back Paquette at 50% retained for a third.

Wait till the ED to move Johnson. Keep ABB and Somppi. Ryan would be a solid pickup to put on the 2nd line and i agree with getting X-Paq back at a discount

Reacquiring Paquette in a RS trade would be cap circumvention according to the CBA. Plus, a 3rd for just Paquette is a gross overpay considering he's had a terrible start to the season.

If I were the Sabre's GM, I would make that trade.
I presume you are including Johnson to balance the cap.
The first and Barré-Boulet would be close to the value.
