I don't think the Hawks make this trade. Toews's career is absolutely up in the air, he's playing golf but can't show up for opening night, like what the hell? and every team needs a good 12 center combo, Dach and Strome is nice.

MIN views him as a foundational winger, much like CHI views DeBrincat. Would you trade Strome for DeBrincat straight up?

It sounds like Toews is done. The whole rebuild thing from Bowman pushed him far enough that he doesn’t see it worth the effort, and I’m in his boat. The man has earned his right to golf.

I’ll fess up, I never saw him playing golf. Toews sounds like he’s got depression or just doesn’t ha e the edge anymore. You can thank Bowman for that.

He was 53p in the last 56 games for MN last year. 4p in 4 Playin games.

His play has been at the same level so far this year. He's just been stuck with nothing as linemates (2 of Rask, Bjusgtad, MarJo, Bonino, or Parise), plus MN's PP setup is awful.

If you were handed a death sentence would the first thing you do is come out in the press? Don't you think you would worry about first 1) your health and getting treatment, 2) your acceptance of it, 3) your family and friends and then somewhere down the line your job? If Toews has something serious like this, he doesn't owe the Hawks or fans a statement until he's ready to do so.
