One decent season as a rookie (5 years ago), good playoff run last year, and he's more physical then he was supposed to be when he was drafted.

This is pretty well all he's done.

I'm not sure why he's being acquired in every Leafs ACGM I open lately.

just think he would be a nice fit. A physical guy who can actually play and move up and down the lineup.

Can he actually play though? He doesn't seem to move up Calgary's lineup. Passed by young guys like Mangiapane, Dube, etc. (decent players but these guys aren't A+ prospects that were top 6 guaranteed guys).

Even Leivo and Simon are getting longer looks in the Top 6 this year then Bennett.
palhal liked this.

But he can't play up and down the lineup. He's "production" challenged. He would fighting for time with Brooks, Engvall who have as many points in fewer games. Certainly not worth sacrificing Liljegren.

I think he's being very under-utilized in Calgary. If the value comes down from this trade great but I like the idea of adding him.

Played 15:09 min per game as a rookie, then 14:59 Yr 2, 14:24 Yr 3,13:17 Yr 4, 12:31 Yr 5.

Seems like he was given plenty of opportunity and couldn't run with it.

He was a 4th OV pick. I doubt they were hoping he'd become a 3rd/4th liner for them.

He'd be a less offensive, more physical Vesey. I doubt he would all of the sudden find his offence if he came to TO.

A huge price to pay for a depth forward when having Liljegren a top 4 in 2-3 years will be way more important

Would much rather get a defensively sound centre and push Kerfoot to top 6 wing

Not ready to move on from Liljegren (hes still 21 and shoots right)

Even with Bennett @ 1.3 cap would be super tight

honestly don't think the leafs should/can add much this year (barring injuries)
