The Blues aren't at risk at losing Faulk though, which is what makes this so silly. Why would Seattle take him? Even if he continues to play well, he's signed into oblivion and is pretty expensive in the flat cap era. They'll have better options too. Guys like Murphy, Dumba, Miller, someone from the Ducks D-core, someone from the Carolina d-core, someone from the Avs d-core, Dermott....there's simply no scenario I can see where Seattle takes Faulk without incentive. They can safely leave him unprotected.
And before anyone says "yeah but won't it make Faulk mad if he's not protected?" well maybe but Perron didn't seem to take it too hard, he immediately came back to the Blues. These guys are pros, it's a business, they can deal with it.
