So Zito just gives them away ? Ekblad is young signed long term on a pretty club friendly contract you’re paying through the nose for that especially being RH shot. Top pair RD 24-28 @7.5 And a Full year of Barkov at 5.9 gets you an A+prospect a”1” + other picks

Actually I think it's too much for Columbus to give up for 1.5m years of Barkov.
The Leafs deal....too much cap going to Leafs.

Ekblad wouldn't fix Toronto. He would only realise his prophecy of being the new Dion Phaneuf.

Ekblad and Maxi Domi, for Nylander, Sandin and Holl? If do that. Upgrades Defense and centre.

Cap is way off. 12.8mil for Domi/Ekblad. 9.8mil for our three. I also don't like how this weakens the top 6.

Domi's half retained. The cap difference is around $1M.

Took Karlsson trade as an example. Can't think of no examples for one year of franchise caliber center bringing such return.

As for Ekblad, I ain't that high on the guy. Imo he's tad overrated.

Domi is not any better at centre than Nylander and way worse overall. Sandin is going to be good and Holl right now is great.

Nah, if the leafs pulled this off I bet they could run a 20 man roster. Maybe swap Kerf for someone lightly cheaper. And with Domi replacing Nylander in what is already one of the best top 6's in the league, the leafs would be fine.

Domi is a centre, or a wing. He could take Nylander's spot. For the upgrade on defense, it's well worth it.

Ekblad is good but Domi does not come close to taking Nylander's spot. And we don't need Ekblad. This would also cost us Rielly.

Just throwing my two cents, but I'd roll with these kind of lines after this move in 2021-22
    Tavares-Matthews-Hyman - costs around $27M
    Robertson-Domi-Marner - ca $18M
Mikheyev-Borgström-Okulov(the classic KHL signing TOR inevitably makes) - ca $4M
    Simmonds-Brooks-Anderson - ca $2M

    Rielly-Ekblad - costs around $12M
    Muzzin-Brodie - ca $11M
    Dermott-Liljegren - ca $2M

Think Kerfoot is going to Seattle, and with Campbell as a goalie they have around $2M left for signing a goalie. Think financially it might be sustainable, but naturally it's gonna be a bit of a struggle.

And they lose Rielly the next season for nothing. It's not sustainable, it short sighted and stupid. If you lose Rielly, you'd hope that Sandin has shown he's ready to fill that void, which he hasn't. So you are just flat out making the team worse long term. And that doesn't even mention that Domi is half the player Nylander is.
