Blows my mind. I really hope this isn’t a personal jab at him. He’s a good hockey player.

I get he sucks defensively but so do a lot of players in his role. He hasn’t had a great start but after last season there is no way he should be waived.

His value is if he’s producing offense, if he’s not then he’s just a bad dman with his poor he is defensively

I wouldn’t shock me to find out Rangers have been trying to trade him but no takers

He had 53 points in 68 games last season and has only played 6 games this season. There's zero justification for waiving him due to performance. If anything, they'd be waiving Trouba.

Second assist on the PP isn’t really a ringing endorsement for his offensive numbers

Gotta assume it’s with how bad he has been defensively to stat the season. Seems like it’s gotten worse from a quick glance?

Not saying it’s smart but if he’s not producing offense, having poor defensive showings while getting minutes, plus ant PR distractions they just might of had enough and the 1 thing he brings when on his game doesn’t out weigh the other 2 negatives and don’t care to wait till the offense starts rolling

Its not even about the assist, its about the tons of chances they created yesterday with him there

Apparently, he got into a fight with a teammate after the game.

He's played 6 games, enough with this BS "he isn't producing" nonsense. Seriously, it's an embarrassing argument. Just say you think being conservative is justification if you want.

well no I dont care what his believes are, and you dont know mine so are so dont start assuming anything. PR can also mean this alleged burner account of his that seems to be him or many people eve in the media believes to be him who has been liking all the teammate bashing posts. What if they find out that is actually him and now have to explain why hes liking hating on his team mates?

6 games offensive isn't showing up, but hes been bad defensively throughout his career....that didnt improve, again they could have gotten tired of his being a liability and want to move on.

nope. And to be clear I don't think its a smart move to waive him either unless there is another factor that we do not know about, which is likely the case.

I do know you well enough to know you're using a pathetic argument about "not producing" offensively. No one that has the slightest hockey IQ would suggest a defenceman that got 53 points in 68 games the previous season would be waived after "not producing" in the first 6 games of the current season.

He got waived because he's a locker room cancer.

And no, it's not just because he supports Trump or whatever. It's because he's insufferably self-indulgent and has been criticizing his own teammates.

ORRRR hes getint waived for upsetting the locker room, which now he apparently got into a fight post game with a team mate. Plus he is god awful defensively. Even if he was producing he still could have gotten waived if hes pulling these locker room stunts like its being reported that he is doing.

You are focusing on his past vs what he is doing today for the rangers.

That may be. But they just resigned him in October. Seems odd that they just found out about it, most teams would have dealt with it in the off-season.

The past? He's not 36, and I'm not talking about 2010. There could be a very valid reason for him being waived, but it sure as hell isn't "not producing". That's a BS argument. And so is this "he's bad defensively" He's certainly not the worst in the league.

all of this because he likes trump

He has a history of character issues. Note - I’m not saying liking Trump is a character issue (I’m a conservative)

Racial slurs (multiple times in juniors) plus draft interviews caused him to be on multiple do not draft lists. He’s been traded multiple times (hard to say what goes on in the locker room). Twitter account essentially making Covid seem made up and considering he works for a business that operates in one of the most fatalities by this virus probably not a great business decision to appease fans. Supposedly had a burner Twitter account (rat file to determine IP address location) and makes fan of team mates / FO. Lastly, fights a team mate. Yeah, just because he’s a Trump fan...

what? A teammate has a bad game and that gives you the right to blast him on a burner account, or if you're saying he's the teammate that he fought, literally fight your goalie for a bad goal? boy you must have been a great teammate playing any sports
