If the rumours are true that Johnny wants to play in Philly, I'd just wait the extra year for FA and get him for nothing! Rather keep TK and replace someone at the LW (possibly JvR if he gets taken by Seattle).

I'd rather keep Konecny who is on an affordable, long term deal, than spend more assets on Gaudreau who isn't even THAT huge of an upgrade

I completely agree. How much does Johnny move the needle? plus giving up all those other assets is terrible management IMO. Also, what's Johnny gonna want for term and money when he's a UFA?

Koneckny is 5.5mil for 5 yrs and the offensive production difference between he and 6.75mil RFA to be Gaudreau is not a 1st rounder, let alone last year and next years 1st rounders.

I think Johnny would sign at $8M AAV (5-7 years) with a NMC like Hayes got to play in PHI.
