I thought he was a winger, no?

That last statement is ridiculous btw. Rossi will easily be better than Hertl, but let's not get into that...

If you dont know much about a player, usually you should stay away from bold statements about them.

I don't know that much about Hertl but I do know that he is on your 2nd line. And I do know a lot about Rossi. You'd have to be pretty spectacular to beat him in his prime. If Hertl was that good, the Sharks wouldn't be a lottery team.

Says who? Im not sold that Beniers is even a top line winger and hes the best forward this year

Guenther, Beniers and Johnson are all first line players. Beniers will be the only centre out of the 3

No from Dallas, Kane contract is way too long and too expensive for his talent and age (don't get me wrong he's a good player). Dellandrea is way younger and was a 13th overall pick, so he's still got a lot of potential to show, Kane has been in his prime and no longer is.

Hertl is a top line centre. I can’t believe you didn’t know that

Rossi has done nothing other than play in the CHL and get drafted with a lot of hype. To say he'll be easily better that a proven center than plays 18+ mins a night is a reach. The kid has potential, sure, but he's not in the McDavid, Matthews, Eichel tier of 1C, can't miss prospect. The draft is littered with high picks that don't meet their draft expectations for whatever reason.

Hertyl is better than anything MN has, but he's a rental+1; which is not something MN should be looking to spend 3 1st's on.

As a Sharks fan I'd probably take that Hertl trade, maybe with an additional 2nd/3rd added in. The Stars probably don't do that Kane trade though with their cap situation and Dellandrea's potential. As for the draft, I would probably have the opposite order, where we take a defenseman like Lambos, Edvinsson or Hughes at 5 and a forward like L'Heureux, McTavish or Chibrikov at 18.

I don't follow the Sharks that much, sorry. It's also possible I mistankenly thought about Meier.

Wild pass on that trade. We need centers. We are already pretty strong on the wing. It's not worth it to give two very valuable assets for a guy who'd play in the 2nd line for us. We would get an elite center with that package. Plus Billy G won't trade the PIT pick, you'd have to settle to the lower one.

That Hertl trade is a steal for Minnesota. A mid first rounder and a future top 6 winger for a 1C is absolutely worth it. San Jose would (& should) be asking for more than that imo
