Team: 2020-21 Chicago Blackhawks
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 1, 2021
Published: Feb. 1, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Obviously not all of these ideas come to pass during a single deadline, but here are some basic ones.
Trades
1.
CHI
  1. Perreault, Mathieu
  2. 2021 2nd round pick (WPG)
  3. 2022 3rd round pick (CBJ)
WPG
  1. Keith, Duncan
Additional Details:
I think this is a good trade for the player and the teams.
2.
CHI
  1. Byron, Paul
  2. 2021 2nd round pick (TBL)
  3. 2021 3rd round pick (CHI)
MTL
  1. Shaw, Andrew
Additional Details:
Just testing this trade out. I've seen MTL fans wanting to move on from Byron.
3.
CHI
  1. 2021 3rd round pick (TBL)
TBL
  1. Janmark, Mattias
Additional Details:
Could be any contender, Janmark seems like a good asset so far, so could be moved with retention for a pick.
4.
CHI
  1. 2021 5th round pick (COL)
Additional Details:
Depth guy for playoff run, since u ripped us off in the Saad trade I think you guys can tolerate this.
COL
  1. Söderberg, Carl
Additional Details:
Long shot, but again UFA that's expiring.

Maybe Janmark to the Habs instead of Shaw, for Byron and some picks.

I can't convince myself to ask a first, and I'm trying to be reasonable so yeah.

Habs say no. It shouldn't take a 2nd and 3rd to get rid of Byron who is still a serviceable NHLer and really good penalty killer. But even if it did they would be doing it in a last ditch effort to remove salary. So they're not adding salary back in a trade

Watching Big Z smash people is worth something was one of my favorite players when he wasn't taking stupid penalties or doing other stupid things - Only 2 penalty minutes so far that counts for something

Could you retain 50% of the salary just for the LOL's

Depending on which Carl show's up could be well worth it

Interesting. Well I will admit, haven’t seen him play this year so I can’t comment. But I see WPG scooping him up at that price.

Soderberg's not unfeasible with some salary retained.

I absolutely loved Shaw as a Habs and even before when he was a Hawks and now that he's back too. But, unfortunately, we don't need him and he got too many concussions.

The Habs fans saying they wanna get rid of Byron doesn't understand that's he's really valuable for the Habs and they wanna move him just because of his contract, he's a solid 3rd liner. He's playing on the 4th because we have crazy depth right now. He also has an ''A'' on his jersey, which means he's an important leader for us, he's fast as **** and solid on the PK. I love Byron.

Why do you think we have 6 SH goals so far. It's because of guys like Byron, Lehkonen, and Evans doing the dirty work on the PK. (Toffoli and Armia too)

Avs moved on from Soderberg because he sucked in the 2019 playoffs. Doesn't seem logical that they'd target him as the missing piece now, especially as he's even struggling to get into the Chicago team despite their injuries to Dach and Toews.

He's not struggling to get onto the Hawks team. He had visa issues and once they were solved he's played every game since. That's without training camp nor getting any real practice time with the team due to them cancelling practices recently with the COVID scare.

The Aves may not want him which is fine. I do think there should be 16 teams looking for his services...I guess 15 if the Aves don't want him. Very cheap NHL veteran that plays a defense 1st game...i.e...playoff style and can play either wing or center. Keep in mind, this year more than any other year....Depth matters more than usual. COVID doesn't care what seed you are. It would be a shame if any team had their #1 PK center go down and that be the reason they lost the chance at a cup. Those guys can be traded for on the cheap.

Thanks for clarifying.

That still doesn't make him an attractive target for Colorado.
