Am I the only one who doesn't give a flying **** about Crosby?..

Why would we trade a LOT of our future for yes, one of the top 3 players in the league but is 33 years old. You don't trade 4 1sts round picks + vs a 33 years old player, no matter who it is.

I just don't see the logic in this.

If they trade one of their two big C's. It's gotta be Malkin, No way it's gonna be Crosby, gotta think they want him to retire as a Pens anyway.

It would suck to see as a Flyers fan but Hextall is the perfect GM for the Pens considering the state of their prospect pool. Guy knows how to draft and rebuild a team.

Exactly PLUS being the only team bidding on him WE could literally set the price and say take it or leave it. Why would any GM come in knowing they have no competition for a player give up their best assets to acquire that player? It is simply unrealistic! We could literally say our best offer is 3-3rds + Byron + Edmundson + Kulak (it's an example not a serious offer) and there would be no one to help the Pens drive up the price. You don't give up your best pieces in that type of scenario.

Yeah Avs decline this. Rust is good but we have too many RW's as it is. There's better ways to spend a 1st than that. O'Connor's contract is also going to be important next season for managing our cap, and he's also looking reaaaallly good so far.

I get what you're saying and I tend to agree on that a bit. BUT! Crosby is still worth a LOT even if he's 33 years old. You'd have to change your offer to something more concrete. But, i don't think the Penguins are gonna be worried about that, they'll either get what they want or keep him imo

Yeah, a deal I could actually see as a base that works for both sides (because Pittsburgh has almost no leverage) would be Danault + Armia (or Lehkonen) + Kulak + Struble + Guhle + 2021 1st (and Maybe one or both 2021 2nds). The Pens get some good young assets in Danault, Armia\Lehkonen, Kulak as well as basically 2 1sts in Guhle and the 2021 1st and a 2nd value wise in Struble. That's a decent Haul considering there would be no other teams in the mix to help drive up the price.

I kinda agree but even then, i don't see the point for Montreal to do this. They finally have a good team + solid bank of prospects/picks. Wouldn't really make sense imo
