Could of had him on waivers for nothing, much less Bennett. Even with the retained salary and draft pick, the Flames pass.

Apparently Bennet has NOT asked for a trade as was initially reported so this is moot..

No on was taking TD at the full freight. NYR is better off buying out TD this summer than retaining more.
Also, NYR is getting thin at RD in the short term, hence Stone.
