I've said it before and I will say it again. I don't want to trade Rittch unless we are getting another goalie back. If we trade Rittch and Markstrom goes down who would our tandem be? Domingue and Parsons. One has just over .900 Save percentage and 3.00 GAA. The other one has no experience

Bennett is a mediocre bottom six player, of which the Kings already have an abundance.
Kylington cleared waivers a couple weeks ago, if the Kings wanted him they could have had him for free.
Rittich is a decent goaltender, but the Kings already have two that they're happy with.

Vilardi is one of the best young players in the Kings system. They're not going to consider trading him unless they get something good in return. Aside from Connor Zary, I don't think Calgary has anything that would interest LA.

So LA could have

Quick - #1 who seems to be dropping to a solid back up in LA but on the right team with proper D could be a good Starter
Peterson - The guy of the future in LA and putting up better numbers than Quick this year and last but still stuck at #2 out of respect
Rittich - decent 1B G who can ride on the taxi squad

Interesting approach

Quick has been better than Petersen this year. It has nothing to do with respect.

Once Mike Smith returns from injury, the Kings will reclaim Grosenick from waivers. They don't need to give up anything of value for a taxi squad goaltender.

Quick - 0.885 sv%
Peterson - 0.919 sv%

Recheck those facts... Also you need to understand I'm not suggesting they make the move for a 3rd G, I politely was saying it's an awful idea.. "interesting approach" was sarcastic

Stats aren't everything. Quick has been the much better goaltender. He has stood on his head and stole a couple games that the Kings had no business winning. Petersen has let in some softies.

Well I glad see a Bennett trade, that wasn't to the Leafs. Why do so many think Bennett has value?

So if he let in a few softies and still has that save percentage he must be standing on his head as well lol

Not really. Petersen had one good showing against Minnesota. Quick faced them the next game and played admirably well despite the Kings having to play without 2 defensemen for most of the game (Roy and Walker left early with injuries).

Petersen has exactly one quality start this year out of 3 games (Minnesota), while Quick has had 3 quality starts out of 5 games (Colorado, St. Louis, & the OT Loss to Minnesota).

In those 3 games he allowed 7 goals... 0.919% sv% and 2.37 GAA is bad in your books i guess

No, go look at the splits at NHL - Calvin Petersen.

Petersen had one very good outing where he had a .970 SV% while facing 33 shots. He had two not so great outings with .897 and .875 SV%. It certainly helped that the game he played well in was an excellent overall team effort, while some of the other games the Kings have played in have been stinkers.

The one game with a high shot volume is heavily skewing Petersen's stats due to the small sample size.

So he allowed 3 goals against COL and 3 against STL... they are legit 2 of the top 8 teams in the league... Gibson allowed 10 goals against STL the last 2 games yet he is still one of the best goalies in the league.. seems like Cal did a good job for a youngster playing second fiddle.. As for COL, well... COL... When haven't they scored 3 or more, tbh 3 is probably a low amount of goals for them to score haha

Again, you obviously didn't watch the games. 2 (arguably 3) of those 6 goals were softies. Quick on the other hand, played lights out against STL and COL (allowing 3 and 2 GA, respectively, with no softies allowed). Quick is the primary reason why the Kings won that game against Colorado. The Saint Louis game was a good all-around effort.

Petersen has yet to steal a win for the Kings this season. Quick has.

Please enlighten me on the game last night. Break down both goalie's play. You're right, I didn't watch the full 60 mins but I did watch half of the game so if Quick made a big save during the game I might have missed it, sure. It's also the team in front of the G responsibility to score and give the G a chance to win...

The Kings were absolute dog **** last night. Both of the broadcasters (Faust and Fox) said when Quick was pulled that none of the goals were his fault. I think some of it had to do with Vegas taking their foot off the gas after scoring 5 and the Kings started to play better.

I think both goaltenders had one highlight reel goal over the course of the game (Quick's cross-ice point blank save on Martinez in the 1st, Petersen's sliding blocker save in the 2nd). Aside from that, neither goaltender made any standout saves over the course of the night.

I don't think last night's game did anything to help one goaltender's position over the other. Quick made all the saves he should have (and stole one), and Petersen made all the saves he should have (and stole one). Unfortunately for Quick, he was in net during all of the team's defensive breakdowns and didn't get as many low-danger shots to pad his SV% with.
