Casey Mittelstadt is a failed prospect. Montour is bad. Dumoulin, if healthy, is kinda good. Ceci is a cheap 6/7th defenseman.

Teams don't just go around doing favours for other teams. No way Sabres trade for Dumolin who is out long-term and for Ceci who is not good at all. What's worse is the cap difference of that trade. You give us 5+ mil of cap and only take 2 mil back? No way. I'd do a Montour for Dumolin swap once Dumo's healthy

They won't be making any trades for awhile. They don't have a GM, the assistant GM isn't going to make a deal and the truth is the team is probably questioning if that's in the best interest at this point of the team.

They got to pick and choose their shot, and the team being almost completely on IR isn't exactly the best timing.

This is horrible for Colorado. The best two players in the trade in exchange for a bunch of spare parts, AND you want Avs to retain $1m for 3 years? Try to think about it from the other teams perspective next time.
