Drouin's been doing amazing with Suzuki and Anderson. I wouldn't trade either, but if I had to choose one, I'd choose Tatar

Lol. The kings arent a fit since their first might be top 3 this year, but Drouin is worth more than a first cmon bud. Either way, MTL isnt trading Drouin lol. This guys a noob

Why is Minnesota giving up anything for Mete, let alone that much value?

Theres no NHL team that will give a first for drouin. Not one. The Kings are in contention for a top pick, I don’t even think they’d give up their second.

well Drouin is playing much better than Tatar. 9 points in 10 games. Tatar is also older and generally worse. also cinna overrated

Dude you must be delusional or trolling. Minnesota doesn't need or have room for victor mete. Like this is beyond every level of comedy @FOXHOLEBOY

Victor mete is a 7th d at best on Minnesota & to think Minnesota would give up anything, much less a 2nd round pick is so so funny

tatar is not getting 6. Danault and Tatar are playing themselves into 3-4M deals.

Drouin maybe has more talent but tatar has been a very stable point producer and Mtl's best forward since he joined the team.

Drouin's never been close to achieving any of that.

I would also keep Tatar and trade Drouin - Give Caufield a chance on the 3rd line next year and move Toffoli up in the lineup makes more sense to me (and it frees 5.5M to sign Danault, which I would also keep over Drouin).

Thats what im talking about. This guy knows whatsup. Get assets for what you have, ad keep tatar instead of him walking for nothing. Drouin is a middle six semi undersized winger who will hit his max potential playing on this juggernaut, best time to sell. Sell high

Guarantee you if he's traded were getting more than a 1st dude. he has 3 years on his deal. Teams who want him believe hes a point producer, so like yeah 1st rounder plus B level prospect, or a prospect and a 2nd/3rd. Your valuing draft picks too high.

Tatar has played with stable and better linemates than Drouin tho. Tatar has not been MTL's best forward since joining the team, stop. Gallagher has been the best forward on the team the past 3 years.

Toffoli is taking Tatar's spot next year with either tatar or armia on the third line with Caufield, I agree with you there. However I don't see them resigning Danault

So if you want to sell high, they should have shipped Tatar out the door last year at the deadline to recoup assets before a potential drop in production in a contract year

The three years is a detriment, not an asset. Mid second and a B prospect? Sure. First? With a flat cap? Get outta here.

Well no because then ur moving sideways instead of forward. You're playing to win not to get assets.

Ill be honest you sound like a drouin hater, hes not a scrub. He has value and teams would be interested. think about a 1st round pick between 20-30. drouin is more valuable. youd have to wait 3/4 years for that asset to hopefully maybe turn into a player. No garauntee the 1st makes the NHL or produces.

Nah dude. Just a realist. No, drouin is not worth a first rounder. That’s absurd. In a flat cap era, contracts taht might not have been bad two years ago, kinda are. I get drouin is off to a good statistical start this year, but he’s pretty much good for 45-55 points. Three years at 5.5 for that, in a flat cap era with a lot of uncertainty. Kind of neutral value. He’s just kinda, “meh.”

That is a huge overpay for Mete. I wouldn't trade Soucy 1-for-1 with Mete and Soucy might be worth a late 3rd at best.

The best you might get for Drouin is a Zucker type of fleecing MN put on PIT. Even that isn't a great comparable because it happened before the flat cap set in.

Uh, i think some teams could need a 50 point winger. nothing to scoff at. Ya he looks meh to us, but there would be buyers. 1st round pick isnt gonna make an impacted within 5 years most of the time

It's his cap hit. $5.5m is expensive in a flat cap, plus the giving up a pick to get him makes it a hard sell. The teams that would be buyers are the teams that are tight against the cap now and in the future. There were enough players that took bargain 1 year UFA deal that will be hitting the market again this offseason, so teams will have a chance at them again this offseason on maybe another cheap deal.

In a world where the cap would be pushing $87m-$90m next year Drouin would have more trade value. In the $81.5m cap world the math is a lot different.

Oh ya, most teams could use a 50 point winger. Worth noting, he’s only hit 50 points twice in his career, but this isn’t to say that he isn’t a solid player. He is. A solid player with a kinda big cap hit in a flat cap pandemic era is never going to get a first round pick. It’s an absolute fantasy.
