Toronto fans ran Roberto Osuna out of town based on allegations, likely throw an absolute piss fit if this happens. Which would be enjoyable for everyone else to watch.

Guess you missed the memo where Bob McKenzie said that Jeff Gorton wont retain salary on DeAngelo?

A worse version of Tyson Barrie. Toronto finally has a chance to go deep in the playoffs, and you're trying to throw a wrench into it?

Then he's paying to move him or he's taking a bad contract back. The Oilers should trade Neal for him, his conspiracy theory loving mind would fit right in in Alberta.

He got a peace bond (restraining order) in exchange for withdrawing the charges, because his wife went back to Mexico and wouldn't testify.

Absence of justice is not innocence.

So your answer to my question is no. It’s not a restraining order as she has said in an interview after his court date that she felt no danger and would resume parenting duties with Osuna. It’s almost like you guilty until proven innocent just isn’t the case in North America.

Quote:
Osuna, who attended the hearing at the Old City Hall courthouse in Toronto, agreed to a peace bond in the case, which is equivalent to a restraining order in the U.S. The peace bond will run for one year and mandates there be no contact with the alleged victim.

As I said, absence of justice is not innocence. Being charged with assault against your wife is much more serious than getting into a scuff with teammates. I don't believe that finger-waving Jays fans for booing this guy for allegedly beating his wife is a great hill to die on but you do you.

In a conversation with Toronto Det. Vivian Meik, Roman Cota said she had no fears for her safety and wanted to resume contact and parenting responsibilities with Osuna, court heard

We can cherry pick articles all day. Your answer to my question remains no, that's all there is to our conversation really.

Don't do this **** with me.

The point I've been trying to make is that Osuna wasn't proven guilty or innocent because the case never went to trial and the victim never testified. There's a ton we don't know and will never know in this case, and what little information we do have isn't enough for a solid judgement. I never implied he was guilty of the crime, my initial post was stating that the circumstances were much more serious than what's been going on with DeAngelo.

Secondly, the court of public opinion is not the court of law. If Calgary could host a baseball team and this happened there, your city would 100% boo him when he returned. My interpretation of your post was that Toronto fans are bad because they didn't want this guy on their team after he got charged with assault. Hearing about an athlete/celebrity getting charged with a crime almost always ends up ruining their reputation and this isn't unique to this situation.

Toronto fans are bad. Not for the reason listed above but for many others! Have a good one.
