I think you give Boqvist a look on 2LW with a competent center and move Foote to the 3rd line. I also don't see Coleman coming back so I guess you could try Sharangovich at center and Zacha on his off wing. I agree with not touching the 1st and 4th lines as they have been the biggest bright spots this season so far.

Maybe (Probably) not, but his contract is up this season & I imagine they would want him in NA. Possibly starts in AHL and comes up mid season (turns 20 next January) ? ... they could use some goalscorers in that top 6, Holtz and Foote may fit the bill.

I know its not very realistic, but Coleman would slot so well with this group imo. With Sharangovich and Zacha, I think they'd make a tremendous checking line that is dangerous on the counter ... but yeah, it probably doesn't happen. Wishful thinking.

I don't see the Devils rushing Holtz so maybe 1-2 years for him. Foote could make the top 6 next year if we lose some guys

I haven't like Boqvist's play this season tbh

I think he needs a chance away from zacha, zajac, and wood to get a feel of what he can be. He is supposed to be an offensive skill guy which doesn't match well with what those three provide. He could end up being nothing but I'd like to give him a chance with a finisher like Holtz and a play driver like Nico.

That is true, he probably has the highest ceiling out of the young guys on the Devils this season (excluding McLeod and Bastian). Ruff should try to play him in the top 9.

He's still young, but I dont like the way he seems to float around the perimeter. He is not going to outskill NHL level defenders, as he has done throughout his life. I believe he'd be much more productive if he learns to play a more direct style of hockey. Get to the net, slot, inside the dots & stop playing on the outside so much ... that's a mindset thing, not a skill thing that I haven't seen from him yet. Nico is great example of a skilled player who knows how to get to those dangerous areas.

Yup, certainly a concern when I did it ... but when is Nico, Johnsson, Severson, Zacha, Bratt ready to step up into leadership roles ... was kinda banking on that being sooner, rather than later.

They would likely add a veteran wing over Holtz or Foote, but honestly, I just didn't want to take the time to figure that out, so I took the easy way out. There will be a huge inventory of wings available as UFAs this year.

(...and Zajac)
I'd hope so, anything else would be a serious blackmark on Fitz, but Im thinking NJ will want picks or players young enough to be exempt from Seattle (therefore, nothing ready for next season's NHL roster)
