Bergeron specifically is from the same draft class (Weber too) as former team Canada Players Jeff Carter, Ryan Getzlaf, Corey Perry, Eric Staal (and non Canadian Olympians like Parise and Suter). Sooner rather than later he'll decline like the rest.

My point isn't that he shouldn't be on the team today. He 1 million percent should. He is certainly a top Canadian

My point is that all of his peers who were also elite have declined, and the vast, vast, vast majority of players decline heavily by his age, so I'd bet there is a pretty decent chance he declines pretty rapidly in the near future.

Can he be the next Tom Brady, or Gordie Howe? Sure! But I'll go with the odds where he'll decline sooner rather than later.
