While I do like Blomqvist...that just isn't enough for the Hawks to accept.

if NY was going to do that, it would have been done by now.

We already have Boqvist. That’d be too many qvists. Hawks decline.

Blomqvist is nice and all, but the Hawks could have drafted him and didn’t. They took a different goalie 6 picks before him, and I doubt much has changed since then. Doesn’t make much sense, especially for Strome. Honestly the other pieces just aren’t very attractive. Pass for the Hawks.

What would you offer for Haula and Borowiecki?

Probably like a mid range prospect and a 3rd. I feel like the pens would hold onto ceci instead of trading for Boro though.

Blomqvist as others said probably isn't all that interesting with Drew taken 6 spots before him by the hawks.

Kasper is "interesting" but to pry out Strome, who's .75ppg 23 year old with cost control and a RFA, Pens would be looking at a 1st and Kasper. A mid to late 1st rounder alone is a bag of magic beans; highly overrated by fans. Unless we are talking about lottery picks, the rest are magic beans which is why you don't see a mid to late 1st on it's own being as highly valued in actual trades that take place as high as fans think they are worth. For reference, a first round pick has about a 35% chance of becoming a NHL fulltime player per actual stats and that includes lottery picks. After lottery picks, mid to late 1st rounder's chance of being a fulltime NHL player drops below 30%; again the reason why any team wouldn't trade Strome for just a 1st rounder unless it's a top 10 and why you don't see promising young players getting traded for a mid to late. Include Kasper and a 1st and it's interesting.

For how little Ceci makes this season, that makes sense.
