Lots of effort to a post that comes off as a farce. Merkley to SEA is dappy. Then Marino for a ransom. I don't get it ultimately. Am I missing something

Yes it’s an overpay, but who’s gonna replace Marino on that blue line for PIT the next 4-5 years ? Adam Larsson ? Maybe Jason Demers ? No, they will keep their best young dman. @mhockey91 agree ?

I don’t see pit trading Marino unless it was a gross overpay like you said. They just locked him up into a great contract. He’s probably the 2nd least likely player to be traded aside from Crosby

The Marino only works for Pitt if they go into full rebuild mode and they’re not doing that yet.
