Waste of a contract spot IMO. Will be good on the Marlies though

Happy for him. Really hard working guy who will do whatever he needs to do to play in the NHL. He can't replace Simmonds but he has the grinder mentality.

I got 2 things

1: Wasn't this contract reported to be 750k for 1 year?
2: Shouldn't it be adjusted because it was signed after the season started or is that only for multiple year contracts?

Only if it's a multi-year RFA signing.

Interesting that the undrafted Sabourin scored 30 goals and 23 points in his last year with Oshawa Generals. The year before the Leafs drafted a player with very similar stats with Oshawa. Yep the Leafs drafted Tyler Biggs in the first rounds. By their comparative production in the NHL, Sabourin should been the first rounder and Biggs undrafted.

I never blamed Biggs for not making it in the NHL. He was qualified to be a fourth round pick. It was Burke and friends were totally unqualified in assessing player evaluation.

Waste of a contract spot when your allowed only 50 of them.

One of the few that are 4th line NHLers and 4th line AHLers.....

I guess this is an NHL deal now? I’m pretty sure he signed an AHL deal with the Marlies in the off-season. I guess this is what they came up with for cheap, immediate forward depth and increased edge.
