Sakic is not going to do that. He can get a much better return.

IDK that’s an interesting trade. Virtanen has the ability to be a 20 goal scorer imo and Gaudette is a solid bottom 6 center.

VAN has been waiting for Virtanen to show for 5-6 years now, he lacks drive and motivation.

Why do you think Jost and Compher are that much of an upgrade on Virtanen and Gaudette.

And if they are why does Colorado bother? They don't care about a 2nd right now they're trying to compete.

He had 18 goals last year. He is big, and has skill, I think it’s a very interesting offer.

    Look up Holtby's #'s thus far...fuuuggg-ly!
Seattle will have to be smoking a lot (a literal sh*tload really) of that free Wash-Govt pot to sign him over someone younger, better and cheaper...

Amazingly, this isn't on him. Defense has left him out to dry. No goalie in this league could make our defense look good right now.

    It's fair as a 2 for 2. Remove the 2nd.

Compher is paid too much for what he does. That brings his value down a bit. Jost is just as hopeless in COL as Virtanen is in VAN. I don't see harm in a swap.

Perhaps but that doesn't make SEA want him.

If the draft was tomorrow, that's a certainty. I think there's some feasibility to it depending on how/if the defense turns this around w/ time. Holtby's raw stats don't look enticing, but his own play hasn't been terrible.

Washington fans said the same thing about Burakovsky who had a career high 13 goals before coming to Colorado...

Jost is in the 99th percentile in xGA/60 in the league. The guy is elite defensively at 5v5 and on the PK, and costs peanuts. I'd much rather have a reliable guy like him in the bottom 6 than question marks.

Yeah, people forget that Seattle's biggest weapon is capspace. I'm sure most teams in the league would take $4.3m in capspace over Holtby right now. Seattle would be better off taking a guy on league minimum from Vancouver and weaponising that capspace to add a 1st round pick from someone.

At first I was like "nah", but then I was like "hmmm". Certainly an intriguing proposal. Not sure I would do it though. Someone convince me...

Different scenario, bura was on a 3rd line role with great shot generation with all signs showing by the numbers in an elevated role he will succeed

Virtanen has played the majority of his career in an elevated role, he is what he is now, a 3rd line guy
