Holy crap you gave up a **** ton to acquire Dubois to play him on the 3rd line! Wow is all I can say. Guess blue jackets fans were wrong when they claimed he was a 1C! He isn't even a top 6 center according to the Jets coaching staff!

Laine was benched tonight, Roslovic scored the game winner and Dubois is a 3rd liner apparently, so much for this being a blockbuster trade.. Lol

So I guess Connor is a third liner too? Lmao. This creates impossible matchups for every other team and gives them a chance to score on every shift

Wasn't trying to sound like a troll post, was more trying to figure out why the Jets coaching staff didn't put him in as 2C over Statsney. They gave up a crap load of talent to play him as a 3C when they could have just as easily put the older Statsney there.

Maurice mentioned it in a interview, he’s experimenting with lines.. trying the more balanced approach, on paper it looks like 1st 2nd 3rd line but actually they’ll more and less have the same ice time

Ok thanks and I apologize if I came off as trolling with my first comment. I was more of astonished that they would give up that much to bury him below Statsney.

Just ask yourself how your bottom 6 would fare against any of those lines.

Montreal's (my team) wouldn't do too badly lol but any other team would likely be over their heads. I like what the Jets have but personally I would have put Statsney on the 3rd line. However that being said I have no idea who he played with in his last stop in Winnipeg so maybe that was also a consideration here.

Maurice is trying to roll 4 lines evenly. They are all supposed to play 13-17 minutes per night to keep the speed high and the pressure on the opponents. I would expect the Connor-Dubois tandem to be more dangerous than the Stastny-Wheeler tandem.

Yes that was exactly why I was shocked to see Statsney ahead on the depth chart. I guess it really doesn't matter though who is given what numbered line as long as Maurice sticks with the game plan of rolling 4 lines. I don't know Maurice well enough to say he will or won't. I just know some coaches have a hard time sticking to that game plan for an entire season lol. At the quarter mark of the season though it looks like Toronto, Montreal and Winnipeg are running away with the division in a tight race at the top lol. I am loving this Canadien Division!!!

The guy hasnt even played a minute yet. Lets just see what it looks like. I look at these lines and see the deepest F the jets have ever had. I imagine PLD will be in around 20 minutes TOI, but it isnt like he just gets slotted in at 1C and #1 PP. I would actually label his line #2 anyways. KC has never been on the "3rd line" consistently and this is the first time Veslainen sniffed the top 6

Yeah like I said above. In the moment I saw the lines I was shocked to see PLD below Statsney on the depth chart. I see the logic in it all now and after the initial shock wore off lol. The Jets look to be taking the Habs approach with adding skilled depth over 4 or 5 elite players and a bunch of scraps. Only thing is the Jets depth players have top end skills where the Habs are good but not elite. I think given the new lineup adjustments Winnipeg will take over Toronto in short order for top of the division.
