Description
If Stanley is as good as he’s shown so far and proves to be a capable third pair dman... where does josh morrissey fit???
If heinola is as good as we all think he is... where does josh morrissey fit?
If Dylan samberg reaches his potential... where does josh morrissey fit?

I’m not a fan of playing dmen on their off side and with those three left shot dmen that left side potentially is set for close to a decade

If u can find that top and right shot dman I think morrisseys contract will have to go to make room to resign samberg and heinola in two years time...

I don’t think true north would ship morrissey out as they love guys who love to be in wpg (they have to love those guys frankly)... and I realize samberg hasn’t played a game yet and heinola only has 9 or 10 games under his belt but I like most people I think they are both studs u build around...I just wonder if morrissey is the odd man out.

You are looking at this the wrong way. You are asking what do you do with your 1d if a couple rookie/prospect types over take him. The answer is you jump for joy to have those sorts of problems.

Frankly having three out of three young guys hit is super rare. If any of the three end up at Morrissey's level you should be happy and if two out of three you should be ecstatic.

I realize potential means nothing if u don’t live up to it... was more just starting a conversation... would Chevy actually consider trading morrissey? What would he be worth? Wonder if they’ve had this discussion behind closed doors already? And wondering what other jets fans think about the idea of moving him

And Stanley doesn’t have to outplay morrissey he just has to be a good cheaper option on the third pair which he’s done so far... and I could almost argue heinola is already better than morrissey in the games he’s played... only ? Is samberg... is he as good as it appears he may be

I just can't see them trading Morrissey, Samberg hasn't played a professional game yet and Stanley hasn't played above the 3rd pair yet so let's not get too ahead of ourselves with trading Morrissey.

The biggest problem is that the majority of their dmen are 6' or less, just can't see it working with so many lightweights on the backend, just too many of the same kind of guy.

Honestly I’ve asked myself the same questions a lot recently. Obviously we can’t expect them all to realize their potential but for arguments sake let’s say they do. Heinola is already better than Morrissey IMO. It’s just we can’t have that many undersized guys on the blue line. Stanley easily is already a 3LD and could become a #4 shutdown guy. Samberg has top 4 potential, and could be a great two way guy.

IMO I see Jets blue line like this long term:

Heinola-Insert RD traded for or signed in FA
    Samberg-Pionk
    Stanley-Demelo

Morrissey is already the odd man out, and frankly I don’t even think he’s a top pairing dman. He’s a great #3 guy who can QB pp2 while also PKing. I think he could return a top F prospect + a 1st at least. Honestly I doubt TNSE wants to move him as they’re loyal to the guys who commit long term, but they should be considering it. The Jets just need to balance their size on the blue line. What I proposed has taken that into consideration.

To answer your question, Morrissey does not fit. Jets should be throwing the kitchen sink at Hamilton if he makes it to FA. They need to get a 1RD that’s a good two way guy. I honestly think the Jets would be a top cup contender if we still had buff.

I think ideally the jets wanna see Heinola, Samberg and Stanley on the leftside in the future and if they all play well and push Morrisey out then great, but I see Morrisey as a jet for his contract. He can slip to the left side and, unlike you, I dont really care about RS or LS. It does make a difference but I dont think it's that big of deal. Jets need a top pairing RSD and those guys are hard to come by

I don't think Morrissey is a top pairing guy either, but I do think he can be the LD on a top pairing, the jets just need to find that guy.
