Kempe could be a good grab, LA isn’t gonna part with Roy so easily he’s having a great year so far

Yeah I figured that's why liljegren is part of it. I think it's good value but may be willing to add another pick if necessary.

Dermott Lily and a 1st should be enough for just Roy but that’s also a lot for the leafs to pay for a guy that might not crack the roster purely because Bogo is a must have for PK

What a gross trade for TO. Roy is a 3rd pair defender in TO, Holl is better as is Brodie and Liljegren is going to be an important piece down the road. Just gross

That is an insane price. Roy would be 3rd pair in TO......I just finished reading your response. I see we are in agreement

Fair title, but rude man. As for your proposed trade, maybe, but I believe Roy and Kempe are definitely seen as key pieces part of the rebuild. Kempe is starting to look good, and it seems the Kings really struggle without Roy. I could see how Kempe might moved, but something during the contract negotiations with Roy would have to go badly for this trade to happen.

Kempe has finally made that step forward and is playing like a top line forward this year. He has looked really good.

Losing Roy and Walker for the last few games has shown how important they are to the success of this team. I don't think they'll part with either one.

The value isn't bad, but I don't think the Kings are going to trade either Roy or Kempe anytime soon.

If liljegren was going to be an important piece he already would be, he's a slow developer and the leafs don't have the time to wait Roy is better than you give him credit for.

NSH declines. If you want Haula, just send the Preds a pick for him.

No he isn't, he is exactly what I give him credit for. A #4 at best defender who is right handed. He is fighting Bogosian for the 3rd pair in TO because arguing Holl is less than a clear very good shutdown defender at this point is ludicrous. Since Bogosian has the size and physicality aspect Roy doesn't have, Roy doesn't even play in TO. Liljegren will be on the Blueline next year and he'll be good. He's 22 for crying out loud. Roy is 25 and just made the league. Patience served him well, and Liljegren is way better from a skill point of view. This trade is crap.

Lol it was initially a title for a buffalo trade and I scratched it last minute for the la trade and just swapped the teams. As for the deal I think the prize part of the deal for our needs is Kempe, Id be willing to drop roy and liljegren and send an la pick back to offset value

Possible, I think the Kings would try to push Athanasiou during the trade deadline, I'm starting to feel Iafallo and Kempe are less and less likely to be used as trade bait. But certain offers you can't turn down.

There is zero rational arguement to the contrary. Roy has never played against the level of competition that Holl does on nightly basis. Holl is bigger and is physical. So he won't take Holl's spot. Brodie isn't losing his spot either. So that leaves Bogosian and he isn't losing his spot to Roy either. So what's the point?

Leafs get much worse at centre with the Haula for Kerfoot trade.
Roy isn't THAT especially if means to give up NHLer Dman Dermot and a top prospect in Liljegren. Yea Kemp is nice, but Leafs are stacked on the wings, he's not really needed.

I would argue he is a better option then Bogosian, he isn't great in any capacity. His edge really hasn't shown this year so your point on that isn't really valid.

The leafs aren't stacked on left wing at all Vesey and mikeyev have combined for two goals. Left wing is currently the leafs largest hole and I think if you believe Thornton and Robertson will make up for that it's a possibility but not a guarantee.

I'm not a huge fan of Bogosian either but he's going to remain in the lineup so it's a moot point. Either way Roy is just a 3rd pair defender. Why on earth would anyone pay a 1st, A prospect for a 3rd pair defender

But that's not the proposed trade now is it. Kempe is the value in the deal.

I do like Kempe but I don't think he's worth the price it would take to get him.

Fair unbiased proposal. Considering most Leafs fans offer Engvall and a 4th for Roy I'd say this is the best one yet.

Alot of Leafs fans who don't watch Kings games are saying Roy is nothing but a 3rd pair guy. I used to think that until this season. He was splitting last year between the 2nd pair and 3rd pair and got easier minutes while Doughty got all the tough ice time. Now Roy has been on the 2nd pair and killing it every night(before his injury) playing with an OFD in Clague and he was a +4 I believe while every other dman was a minus.

Roy is better than Bogo in every single aspect. PK, PP, even strength, offensively, shot blocking, and just as if not more physical. So I don't know that that one guy was talking about lol. Roy is a 30+ point defenseman in Toronto.

Until this season, I wrote Kempe off as a 3rd liner. He played in the top 6 towards the end of last season and he's been in the top 6 all year so far. He's having what looks like it will be a career high in points and he's more consistent and better in every area. I have no doubt he will be a 1LW to Byfield in the near future.

All that being said, that is a great and unbiased return(probably the best I've seen from a Leafs fan) but considering the importance of Roy and Kempe and everything I've stated about them. I personally would decline this trade.

Very good proposal though, I just don't think its a good idea to trade those guys at this time.
