Admittedly haven't watched any Devils games this year. Gusev's stats are looking like he's having a slow start, but how is Subban doing?

Better than last season. He still makes mistakes but its nothing compared to last season. I doubt the Devils will pay and get rid of him. As for Gusev, he's having a rough start in Ruff's new system. His stats seem bad but he has been getting better

Dumba > Subban probably, but not by wide enough margin to justify $4.5 million plus Gusev plus a 1st pick.

If there is a deal here, I'd imagine it would be Subban + a center for Dumba.

What about something like Subban + Zacha for Dumba plus whatever pieces are needed to even that out?

Don't think any of these trades are too terrible. Still need a top 6 center, though (I don't think Bennett belongs in the top 6).

I have a hunch that Brackett will push for Guerin to acquire Gaudette since allegedly Brackett is the one who banged the table for him when he was with the Canucks. He's not really a top 6 C either but he has the skillset to play as a 2C and who knows maybe he'd find some chemistry with Kaprizov or Fiala.

It's 5 or 6 more days to go too. Those plane rides to and from COL really seemed to take their toll on the team.

For the CGY trade just make it simple Bennett for MarJo. Kylington (especially if Soucy isn't taken by SEA) just becomes another Reilly, Olofsson, Seeler, etc. Either fighting for playing time and lost to waivers or traded away at a discount.

I don't have any interest in Gusev as a rental, and even less interest in re-signing him. I'd rather just keep Virtanen (would prefer Gaudette) and see how he does with a change of scenery. Use him as a bribe to SEA if anything.

PK at $4.5m is pretty close to a 1-for-1 Dumba; neither of them were good last year, and neither have been anything special this year.

I don't think MN can trade Cole with Spurgeon and Dumba both injured in some way, shape, or form. I don't think VAN would want one of the rental FWDs for either Gaudette/Virtanen. Soucy might be of interest to them? But with the injuries he's in the same boat as Cole right now.

I'd be happy if Gaudette was a 3C on a normal team (which in fairness would be a 2C in MN this year).

I don't see any reason the GMBG should put much faith in Brackett when it comes to acquiring players. VAN has a pretty dismal draft record overall. They've hit big on some top-10 picks (missed on a couple too), but not much else after that.
