Description
Dear Minnesota,

We royally f'd up when Lavy started declining and we didn't see the writing on the wall. We shouldn't have let Dean Evason leave. Would you mind to send him back, say in exchange for John Hynes? We can retain on his salary and offer you a 2024 1st round pick. We'll need all of our firsts until then to rebuild this pathetic team.

Thanks,
Sean Henry (because I'm asking Poile to "retire" too)

I agree with this Hynes Is killing us and we need a replacement. Police prob could go to as much as most of us don't want to see it we need. Anew direction. We can't keep overpaying players and adding by free agents we need a prospect core to develop a real all Star offense man.

Evason already left in 2018. That wasn't Lavy's or Poile's fault. He made a career move and you cannot blame him for becoming an assistant there and eventually getting the gig. I'm happy he was able to become an NHL coach he was a good one in MKE.

Karl Taylor should be next coach, he had the boys playing great hockey last year in MKE, before the season was shut down. Had good PP and PK units.

      My experience as Devils fan....

Hynes is way too rigid in his system and needs to coach around his players, not bend the players around his style. In NJ, he wanted all the offense to come from the wings, centers to stay back in more defensive role. This allowed someone like Taylor Hall to thrive, but also held back guys like Hughes and Hischier. Essentially, the center acted as a 3rd d-man, making up a triangle. Puts way too much pressure on wings and pulls some of the best offensive players off the rush. He also didn't want d-men to leave net to retrieve puck, and didn't want goalie playing puck, which lead to fewer transitions.

Not sure how its going in Nashville, but imagine some of the same.

Small sample size but for the most part I like what we've seen from "Deano". There will probably be a lot of decent coaches for the Preds to choose from this offseason if they don't promote internally. Gallant is available, I could see Hextall firing Sullivan to bring in his guy, Boudreau is out there, Torts may be fired, Travis Green may be fired, etc.

You can have Evason. I thought he was badly outcoached in the Playins this summer. He looks completely lost this year with lineups and PP setups this season. The only thing he's really done well is setting the OT lineups.

MN can then do a proper coach search while Walz runs the team into the ground as the interim HC. At least it would get him out of the tv booth.

I forgot about Gallant. That would be a great move. Unfortunately, I don't see any of that changing if Poile is still in charge. It seems like we're in for a couple years of uncertainty to get things headed back the right direction.
