Habs fans giving up on Carey already this season? I think I recognize this mindset from somewhere....just can't seem to put my finger on it.

It’s funny because it’s true. It’s also funny because it’s from a maple leafs fan.

As for the idea 894 is far from worst in the league. Price can still turn back the clock and be a top goalie (basically the only reason mtl beat Pittsburgh)

Meh, usually happens once or twice a year. He'll likely go on another little run at some point soon, and we'll be back to the GOAT talk. Some people are fueled by "Small Sample Size Syndrome".

It is fun to break down small sample sizes though:
-Price's numbers during 4 wins: 4-0-0, .938 save %, 1.75 GAA
-Price's numbers during 4 losses: 0-2-2, .850 save %, 4.00-ish GAA.

There’s no reason to expose him to Seattle though. I’d rather have a 4-2-2 Price with awesome stats in the wins then have a 3.43 .895 6-7 koskinen. I don’t get why canadiens fans don’t appreciate what they got.

It's not about what's happening now. We all know price is a good goalie. I don't want to part with him. I'm talking about an expansion strategy that lets us keep Jake Allen and Price. 13m in salary next season for a soon to be 34 year old goalie with 5 years left on a deal wouldn't make sense for Seattle. Sure he has star power, but I wouldn't be quick to sign a goalie with that much term and money at 34 years old. Especially in a flat cap post pandemic world where we don't even know if NHL clubs are going to be able to be at completely full capacity next year. I say its a good strategy to keep both goalies. Because if thigs stay this way, and we expose Allen he's gone.
