Byron in a 2nd or 3rd line role can score 20 goals, 40 points in 82 games

Ottawa isn't changing course on it's strategy to acquire players named Brown

Byron has been struggling so I would easily take that deal + I think that his best days are behind him now.

Why do you hate the Sens?

Byron is not coming to Ottawa

ones on defense and the other is a winger, sergachev still has 3x the amount of assists byron has. Hes looked rough this year after his injury season last year and nobodys going to consider him anything but an overpaid bottom 6LW until he shows it again

If we buy him out immediately afterward, then its just his contract for a 3rd. Weaponizing our cap space.

I think this is the best part of having Melnyk as an owner, how often he trades for other teams bad contracts and then buys them out for them. He's a real sweet guy that Melnyk.

At this point it doesn't matter if we have another $3.4 million in salary and if we can get a 3rd out of it, whats not to like?

Three years of Byron and Watson eating up nearly $5MM in cap space and possibly blocking out Formenton and/or Abramov, Pinto, Grieg, for a possible goalie pick that won't be ready for 6-8 years.
