I dont think the leafs should trade Kerfoot unless these get a centre back cuz then there's kinda a void

Could be, but I doubt it. Especially not at that cost.

Fact is the Leafs don't need any body really. Leafs have good depth at wings. Leafs shouldn't be trading centres, How does one assist in nine games from Gusev help the Leafs?

Kerfoot has been playing well. Good teams need to be deep at centre. I've been impressed by Kerfoot 200 foot game this season. If he and his line mates had some puck luck, his point totals would be higher. Good chance Kerfoot is lost to Seattle, but right now Leafs need him.

Does Nick Merkley qualify as a decent center?

Thought the Devils didn't want Kerfoot? The team drafted him but never signed him.

Minnesota to me already has C's like Kerfoot & will have no room for Kerfoot as soon as next year

1c: Marco Rossi / trade/ free agency
2c: Joel Erickson ek, Alexander Khovanov / Marat k
3: Joel Erickson ek, Sturm / Marat K / Bonino / Bjugstad
4c: Sturm

good 3C or middle 6 winger. Leafs can't afford to lose that C depth. Plus this is a huge overpay anyways - maybe if you added Zacha...

Rossi (getting COVID is the only thing of note he's done this year), Khovanov (0p in the KHL), and Marat K (2p in the KHL) have done nothing to show they should be on the NHL roster nest year, let alone in the 1C/2C spots. Bonino and Bjugstad need to just go away. So you're left with JEE (for some reason behind Rossi, and in the same group as 2 others who have done nothing), Sturm( looks decent in the limited minutes he has), and Rask as the centers. Kerfoot the 2nd best center this year and probably next year.

I see a big gaping hole at center this year, and and even worse one next year. If you could get Kerfoot for a 3rd right now you take it and run. MN could have 2 functional lines to work with.

It's worse than that. We drafted him and tried to sign him but he told the team he'd never play for the Devils and stayed an extra year in college to get drafted again. We are not trading for him.

Not Zacha lol. I just added him for cap reasons, that's why I flipped Kerfoot right after.

I was thinking they would be the team that needs a center the most. And he would probably go to Seattle

You are probably right. Question, remember reading a report about wild prospect / player Alexander Khovanov he won't play in AHL: otherwise he will stay in Russia. So does wild risk his unhappiness when he comes, & send him to AHL, or keep him @ NHL

That was a 1 yr loan to the KHL with all the COVID stuff. MN has him under contract for 2 more years. He's not even in the KHL he has been in the VHL most of the year.
