I feel for ducks fans they must get so annoyed seeing “any team” on 9/10ths of the posts involving trades with them

There are some contracts that can't be terminated?

Almost every contract lol. Either has to be mutual (like Kovalchuk) or the player had to have done sm rly rly bad I think. Ik that u can’t j terminate every contract though otherwise my contract would be terminated

Only buy-out next season...unless he opts for termination

That's a lot of years for a rookie goalie.

Also, at some point, with all the teams that are looking for centers, a Zibanejad deal could be worthwhile.
If he walks for nothing and they end up with Krejci as 1c...

I actually had a really good idea for a Deangelo trade hear me out

NYR want another Center and have a Dman causing problems (Deangelo)
Ottawa has a center who wants to back to America, wants to get its pick back, and has the space to buy him out, but I say use him as lets face it Mike Rielly really should not be on unit 2

      my proposal

      Ottawa Senators
Derek Stephan (50%) retained to Rangers

      New York Rangers
Tony Deangelo (1mill retained) to Ottawa along with
      2022 2nd round pick

Now before we go nobody wants Deangelo hear me out. He cleared Waivers so Ottawa can keep him on the Taxi Squad, send him to Bellville or give him a shot on the main rooster, and if he doesnt workout they can buy him out. Now I hear yah, why hes gonna be expensive, actually no. Deangelos buyout is actually really cheap. (1.3mill year 1, 300k year 2, and for 2 more years 800k). Wont Impact the sens in the future and they got 3 2nd round picks in 2022 to use in a trade or draft top talent.

In general this trade gets Ottawa its 2nd round pick back (in a sense), a usable offensive Dman, and lets Stephan go back to America

Plus Stephan could help Laf get going and allow for Strome to be moved to the wing

like honestly it works for both sides. Deangelo could maybe benefit from being up in Canada and DJ-Smith gets a 2nd round pick back while the Rangers have been needing center help and Stephan does want to go back to America. It's a win win.

Like for the rangers picture a 3rd line of Laf-Stephan-Strome, Laf may get going and start scoring
