Description
I tried to take into account teams that could use 4/4/1 instead of 7/3/1. As well as teams that will have players waive their NMC, like COL with Erik Johnson, he’s a potential guy to waive his NMC. Florida might get Bob to waive, there are some other candidates too. Also, the only pick I made that would have picks coming Seattle’s way was the Eriksson pick, there would be a 2021 lottery protected 1st going their way. VAN might have a high pick this year so won’t be their 2021 pick in the end.

I tried to take a balanced approach, leave some cap space, while acquiring some young players that have some growth opportunity. I didn’t take very many bad contracts as I feel like with covid seattle will take a conservative approach early.

I also considered that seattle would be smart to keep their cap space high, so that when they can dip in to FA they can make some serious splashes. This team likely finishes pretty low in year 1 and gets a really good pick in the 2022 draft, but can make immediate improvements in FA.

I have canes protecting Slavin, Bean and Pesce. Just have dougie sign after ED. Unless the canes would rather lose fleury, I figured they’d lose one of those two.

Canes will protect Dougie, or Seattle will just take him and try to extend him. You can't take the risk in losing a defenseman as good as Hamilton. Even if he doesn't re-sign in Seattle, he wouldn't be able to play in Carolina for a year. The 3 D men will be Hamilton, Slavin and Pesce. Bean will go to Seattle

Ahhh see that’s where I missed on a technicality. If he’s selected, but doesn’t resign he can’t go back to CAR..... that makes much more sense. I will make the change for bean.

No chance, I know price is better than bobrovsky, but that’s like asking would you choose bobrovksy. I think honestly if price did waive his NMC, seattle would just take a goalie from another team. I think they will avoid monster contracts like that unless they’re getting a haul to take it.

That means Mtl could save Allen by not protecting Price. I wouldn't like to see the reaction of Montreal's media on this move. Ouch !!!
